The Mayabel Movement International is a registered Canadian Not-For-Profit organization established in October 2023 in Canada.


It is operating in Canada, with the head office located in the Scarborough community, with a mission to work with vulnerable communities to help the youth, young adults, adolescent girls, and women affected by poverty, lack of education and difficulty getting employment.

MMI is committed to building the self-esteem & self-worth of Girls, young adults, youth, and women by positively influencing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, & helping them to empower themselves.

 

In Canada, “MMI” extends support to Youths, Girls, Women and families through community programming and services which involve, Soup kitchen get togethers, Food hampers, vouchers, gift cards and clothing drive.

 

The adoption of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and its seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has drawn considerable attention to income, inequalities, and social injustice in the west and Central Africa as aligned with the report from UNDP on their progress to attain the SDGs.

 

The Mayabel Movement International has a 2030 vision to continuously address vulnerabilities of children, young people, youths, and women- especially vulnerabilities of the girl child with a focus on education, and community development programs.

Mayabel Movement Impact in Toronto

MMI has Come to advocate for social justice to ensure that women and girls experience greater gender equality so that they can enjoy lives free from violence and realize their rights to Education and to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).

 

Support women and youths especially girls to strengthen their livelihoods and reduce the proportion of women and girls living in poverty by ensuring that women and girls have equitable access to and control over economic resources and opportunities which will make them more resilient to social shocks and stresses.

 

Work with local NGOs, district, national partners to engage and expand empowerment for the youth, young adults, women, and girls in all spheres of life.
